16-year-old Max Garcia’s sensational USF Pro 2000 Championship campaign

Max Garcia’s rise through the Road to Indy ladder now looks nearly unstoppable. Equipped with OMP racewear and Bell Racing helmets, the 16-year-old Floridian secured the 2025 USF Pro 2000 Championship during the Grand Prix of Toronto weekend – clinching the title mathematically with three races still to go. The feat was sealed in style: from pole position to checkered flag, Garcia delivered a commanding lights-to-flag victory in Race 1, brushing off two caution periods with calm authority.

“The race was awesome for sure,” Garcia said after the chequered flag. “I just got out to the lead and didn’t really look back after that. I’m just so excited that I was able to win the championship with a win. It’s just fantastic, and I can’t wait for Portland.”

Driving for Pabst Racing, Garcia has delivered a season marked by consistency, pace, and maturity beyond his years. In 15 races so far, he’s claimed 11 podiums – including 7 victories – along with 10 fastest laps and 8 pole positions. He’s led the most laps in seven events and has impressively completed every racing lap this season.

Garcia’s breakout campaign not only cemented the drivers’ title but also helped Pabst Racing lock up the teams’ championship already at Mid-Ohio, where he swept the weekend with back-to-back wins and maximum points. Despite both titles already secured, Garcia and the team are aiming to close out the year strong at the Portland finale in August.

The Toronto result marks back-to-back championships for Garcia, who won the USF2000 title in 2024. As youngest driver on the current USF Pro 2000 grid, he continues to make waves as one of the most exciting prospects on the Road to Indy – a clear future contender for INDYCAR stardom.

By winning the USF Pro 2000, Garcia has also earned the $594,500 scholarship to advance to INDY NXT in 2026.
